Colour: Dense red.
Bouquet: Complex, with scents of blackberry, cherry, strawberry and sweet spices, licorice and chocolate.
Taste: Perfect balance with sweet tannins and long and intense finish.
Pairings: Ideal with grilled food, sauced and elaborate red meat and wild game.
Wine Advocate
As is generally the case, I find the Starderi to be the most convincing of the estate’s Barbarescos and the 2003 is no exception. It is the ripest and sweetest of the wines, showing generous nuances of licorice, toasted oak, menthol and macerated cherries on a broad, full-bodied frame with terrific length as well as balance. Here the firm tannins are balanced by the wine’s greater concentration. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
