Cloudy Bay
An enticing fragrance of dusky dark fruits - black cherries, plums and berries intermingles with rich earthy aromas, mocha and exotic spices. The intensely varietal palate of ripe red and black fruit has charry oak flavours and plush velvety tannins that clothe a tautly structured frame. The 2006 Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir reflects the benefits of a naturally low-cropping season and finishes with great length and depth of flavor.
Food Matches: Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir is very happy alongside slow-cooked star-anise pork belly. Alternatively, both duck and lamb enhance the fruit sweetness of the wine, and a wild mushroom risotto will enhance the wine's savoury side.
Wine Advocate
The 2006 Pinot Noir has a lovely nose with superb delineation: black cherries, talcum, plum and a touch of violets (far superior to the somewhat disappointing 2005). The palate is medium-bodied, very well-balanced with very good acidity. There is a natural quality to this wine, a personality that I find difficult to find in other Cloudy Bay releases. Crisp cherry, strawberry and a little iodine on the finish, nice and crisp, this is a great Pinot Noir that should drink over the next 3-5 years.

Wine Spectator
Fleshy, fine and supple, with outstanding balance to ripe Santa Rosa plum, violet and spice tones. Wild berry and cedary oak flavors fill out the finish with fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2010. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 2,000 cases imported.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
